The 86th Floor
Doc Savage, 1943

This radio series was based on the Doc Savage character as portrayed in the Street and Smith comics starting in August of 1941. In Doc Savage Comics #5 ("The Angry Ghost" by Jack Binder) Doc crash-lands in Tibet where a Tibetan mystic finds him and nurses him back to health. The mystic then bestows Doc with
a magic blue hood, which has a sacred ruby on its forehead. This cowl endows Doc with super-strength and hypnotic powers (as if his own weren't enough!). So far, no recordings from this series have turned up. Most of the scripts do exist, though. Three were printed in a booklet, The Invincible Doc Savage.
