      It was a splendid idea, and it took up the few remaining days of their stay there. But neither Monk nor Ham realized that upon their return to New York their interest would continue in melodies --a new, strange. weird kind of melody which would be tagged Murder Melody, and which would give them much more fighting, much more danger, than the war they had just finished.
