      Being no clairvoyant, the bronze man had no inkling of the next fantastic adventure which was to come his way, a thing moer amazing, more inexplicable than any puzzle connected with this fabulous cavern land.
      The Spook Legion was the fantastic foe next to confront Doc Savage. Horror came with this Spook Legion, and a terror that threw a nation into panic and fear. It was a foe which no man could oppose, this Spook Legion, for no man could see it. Yet it fell upon Doc Savage to go against the new terror, and in doing that, he was ordained to find a foe beside whom past enemies were mere tyros.
      It was not true that the departure of Doc Savage from the cavern land was unmarked by regret...
